Main Street

In November, 2013, the Georgia Department of Community Affairs announced that the City of Grayson was among 18 cities chosen to participate in the 2014 Main Street Start-up Program.

The City has been focusing on the four areas of the Main Street Approach as they incorporate the tools and training of the program into the vision and mission of Grayson’s DDA and Administration.

At the end of the year of training, the City of Grayson aims to have the DCA’s recommendation to the National Main Street Center as a designated Main Street city.

The Main Street Four Point Approach:

  • Design: what downtown looks like and how it functions
  • Organization: the people and organizations that will do the work
  • Economic restructuring: the types of businesses that will work in a particular downtown
  • Promotion: helping others understand how and why downtown is great

Grayson’s Main Street Board of Directors meets on the first Tuesday of each month at 6:00 p.m. at 438 Grayson Parkway, Grayson, GA 30017.
